Meditech FOS2 Pulse Oximeter Properties:

  • 2 year warranty.
  • Operation of the pulse oximeter is simple and convenient.
  • The SpO2 device is compact and ultra light (total weight is about 50g including batteries) and conveniently carried.
  • Economic power consumption (two AAA batteries can be operated continuously for 30 hours).
  • Low voltage warning will be indicated in the visual display.
  • The product will automatically be powered off when out of use for longer than 8 seconds.

  • Meditech FOS2 Pulse Oximeter Operation Scope:

The fingertip Oximeter can be used to measure adult Hemoglobin Saturation and pulse rate through the fingertip.
The product is suitable for medical, institution, sports and home use.

The Meditech FOS2 pulse oximeter measures the percutaneous blood Oxygen Saturation (SpO2). The oxygen saturation levels are being measured repeatedly, every few milliseconds. As such, it gives a continuous assessment.

Portable, Reliable & Cordless Pulse Oximeter
The pulse oximeter measures the saturation of hemoglobin with oxygen. It does not require a drop of blood. The whole procedure is painless. In fact, we do not expect you to be uncomfortable.

What is Meditech FOS2 pulse oximeter?

MediTech's Latest FOS2 is a compact, light weight, highly advanced pulse oximeter, designed for on the go spot checking of vital signs (blood O2 saturation & pulse rate), in a simple non-invasive procedure.

By simply clipping the device to the finger, users can receive a SpO2 and pulse reading, within seconds. The Pulse Oximetry answers a wide range of needs and serves various roles in the medical and recreational fields.

FOS2 pulse oximeter is based on Meditech's SpO2 accumulated knowledge and technology which utilise Reflective Pulse Oximetry (RPO) for accurate and relaible blood saturation measurement, despite its record-breaking compact in size and weight.

    Measurement Principle:

Oximetry absorptionBlood carries oxygen in two forms, the majority is bound to hemoglobin (oxyhemoglobin) and the rest is dissolved in the aqueous phase of blood (the plasma). The dissolved fraction is dependent upon the partial pressure of oxygen. As the partial pressure increases, the dissolved fraction of oxygen increases. This is measured by the standard "Blood Gas Analyser". To determine how much oxygen is carried in blood, the oximeter express it indirectly by the percentage of saturation. As each gram of normal hemoglobin can hold maximally 1.34 milliliters of oxygen, the value of saturation can be used to calculate the actual partial pressure, though it is not necessary in clinical use.
The Oximeter works according to Lambert Beer Law: The FOS2 omits a near-infrared pulse (a 660nm ray and 940nm near-infrared ray). The light passes through the skin, "shines" red blood cells, and is partially absorbed. The part which isn't absorbed is reflected and picked up by the photoelectric sensor. The porportion of absorption for the 2 wavelength are analyzed. The data is calculated according to the hemoglobin (R Hb) and Oxyhemoglobin (02 Hb) reflectance factor. Reflectance factor, is an index that shows the exact amount and length of light that a substance will absorb, when it is being "shined" by a certain wave length of light.
