What is pulse oximeter?
Pulse oximeter is an medical equipment using non-invasive methods for monitoring patients' blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate. In contrast to other tests, it does not require taking blood from the artery. All the patients need to do is to clip the sensor on to their fingers. The whole procedure would not cause any pain or discomfort. As such, it has a wide applicationin many circumstances, such as for patients with chest or heart disease, in operation theatre, for monitoring of patient in transit, in treatment room, in endoscopy unit, in high dependence unit, in elderly home, and while turning a paraplegic / tetraplegic patient, chest physio, sputum suction, titrating oxygen therapy, ventilator, CPAP machine, and even in sports center and gymnasism.....
What is SpO2?
SpO2 means oxygen saturation percentage. In the lung, oxygen bound to hemoglobin and form oxyhemoglobin. There is only 2% of the oxygen content dissolved in serum. The oxygen was carried to tissue organ and released. The hemoglobin was then carried back to lung and the cycle repeats. The SpO2 is the percentage of oxy-hemoglobin out of the total amount of hemoglobin.
How does the FOS2 operate?
Everyone knows apple is red and banana is yellow. Fresh blood is red and a suffocated person turns purplish blue. The reason is simple. Apple will absorb most of the light spectrum except red. The red light was reflected and picked up by our eyes and perceived as red. The same theory applies. Oxy-hemoglobin and hemoglobin have different light absorption feature, in particularly in the spectrum of (600nm - 1000nm). The Oximeter sheds light of different wave length (660nm and 910nm) to the finger and the transmitted light was picked up by a photoelectric sensor. The strength of light was quantified by a DA converter. The difference in absorption of the 2 wave-lenght light under different phase of a pulse was quantified and input into the micro-chip. The ratio of the 2 different form of hemoglobin will thus be calculated. Since the method does not cause pain, and can provide real-time continuous monitor. Its application is extensive.
What is the normal range for each FOS2 pulse oximeter display?
Individual normal range varies, but usually over 95%. Please consult your physician for further detail.
Can MediTech FOS2 pulse oximeter resist spillage?
No. This model is not water resistant. Damage incurred by putting a wet finger into the sensor, accidental spillage of water or exposing the equipement to excessive humidity will void the warranty. Please wipe all moisture from finger before clipping the oximeter on to it.
Where should I store the product?
It is best to store the product in a cool place, without direct sunlight, with ambient temperatures -10-40°C and relative humidity of 10%-80%.
How do I operate the device?
1. Install two AAA batteries into battery cassette, close the cover.
2. spread the clamp lightly.
3. Place one finger inside the Oximeter (it is best to plug the finger thoroughly) then release the clamp.
4. Press the switch button once on front panel. The data will be shown in 5 seconds. Do not shake or move the finger while measurement is taking place
When should I replace the batteries?
A warning light will appear on screen when voltage of the batteries are low. By then, batteries need to be replaced.
What is your return policy?
30 days money back policy is intended to provide extra protection to overseas buyer.
